Destination: Huelva, Spain
We’d had quite a disturbed sleep the previous night as the campervan next door seemed to have a very unhappy cat in it. And it was meowing loudly all night long.
So, bleary eyed, we set about making some breakfast before exploring the site and heading off to our next destination.
I really can’t say enough about how much of a game changer the car fridge had been. It was lovely to have fresh fruit and juice, and a constant supply of really cold water … and beer! I seriously couldn’t imagine going away without one now.

Having had quite a leisurely brekkie, and showered for the day, all that was left to do was pay the remaining fee for the pitch. Once we’d done that we had a quick look round the site which was pretty decent. I would definitely stay here again. There was a restaurant and shop onsite that we’d not used, a great natural pool and lovely views across fields to Lagos.
But we’d not be visiting Lagos on this trip, we were heading straight for Faro.
Faro
Unusually for me, I’d not planned anything at all for our time in Faro. I had originally expected to make Faro a short stop and head for Seville in the afternoon. But as we were now changing days about so that we could fit in a visit to a friend, we were pushing Seville back a day. Or so I thought, but more on that tomorrow.
The drive to Faro took around 45 minutes and we passed a few place names I recognised, like Albufeira and Vilamoura. When we arrived we found some parking pretty much immediately on the Largo do Campo de Feira.
There was a funny little guy stewarding the cars, who was asking for money for food. We gave him some bananas and a pain au chocolat (which he’d never had before and loved) and chatted to him for a little while. He told us his sister lives in Gloucester in the UK, only around 16 miles away from us! So we went over to the shop and bought him some water as well.
Then we took a short walk toward the town.
