France is situated in Western Europe and has a very pleasant climate so is great for camping.  Having borders with 9 other countries and 4 different seas makes it an ideal place to take a TentBox adventure!

France is made up of regions, and there are 12 of those in mainland France.

I travelled through a number of these on my way to and from Italy during 2024.  My adventures are detailed in a series of blog posts categorised ‘The Italian Job‘.

This trip is organised into days.  The days where I was specifically travelling in France are;

• Day 1 – travelling to Caen
• Day 2 – travelling in the Loire
• Day 3 – travelling through Bourgogne
• Day 4 – visiting Chamonix for Mont Blanc
• Day 5 – driving through the Mont Blanc tunnel
• Day 24 – from Germany to France
• Day 25 – on the banks of the Seine
• Day 26 – Le Shuttle

France has a really good road network, with many long straight roads and little traffic compared to the busy UK highways.  There are also very many toll roads which get you quickly from A to B.
